OK - the white stuff is coming down in record amounts. Our kids, the Canadian Tire shovel department & the 2010 Olympic organizers are lovin' it. Our vehicles, churches & global-warming proponents are less than-thrilled.
But does this snow need to be a deterrent to the Gospel? Of course not! Sure - we're snowed in for a few days. The Christmas Eve service is cancelled. But don't let that stop you from celebrating the birth of our Lord, King & Prince of Peace. Get your family & friends together, sing some carols, play some games, drink some nog & celebrate. Or better yet - invite your snowed-in neighbours over for some cocoa. You know....the ones who you thought about inviting to 'church' but haven't gotten around to it yet...those ones. This weather's a great excuse to get to know them - and for them to see the Grace & Peace of our faith in your life.
So - while there are many deterrents to the Gospel's expansion in our city, snow definitely isn't among them.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it rain...and take time to proclaim Joy to the World...the Lord is come.
