The Last Supper is given between betrayal and denial. The meal is framed by failure, but fueled by grace.
- scripture readings
Our first celebration of Easter weekend will be Maundy Thursday, fittingly held in the Chapel's 'upper room' (sanctuary).
On this night, we remember Jesus’ last supper with his disciples, and the road to the cross. Around that dinner table, Jesus instituted Communion & gave us his “new mandate”: that we love each other as he has loved us. It's also the night he washed his disciples feet, was betrayed by a brother, wept in the garden, and was unjustly tried in the middle of the night.
As we reflect & remember Christ through simple songs, scripture readings & devotionals - may we be moved to respond to the grace so freely given - and to the sacrifice so greatly made for our freedom.
Jesus drank from His fathers cup that we could drink from his endless grace.
